City lacking in holiday lights
July 3, 2008 · Updated 8:46 PM
To the mayor and city council, I understand blocks 17 and 18 in Mount Vernon were decorated for the holidays. Also, I was fortunate and saw Lynden. The town is beautiful, even its Darigold Milk Company. For 10 blocks in every direction, the celebration of life in Christmas holiday lights.
I know the country is in a state of depression because of the Bush war and administration, and Oak Harbor shows it. Our young people are away fighting and the town from which some came cant even celebrate the fact that they are alive.
Shame on you, Oak Harbor. Decorate in lights.
